To order DiagnosticLink, logon to the ordering site at https://diagnosticlink.nexiq.com/ using your AccessFreightliner (SSO ID) and password.

Steps:

1. Select DiagnosticLink and add the desired product and quantity to cart.
2. Click on the cart and proceed to check out (entering billing information as needed).
3. Upon completion of the order transaction, a license key will be provided.

To manage license subscriptions (e.g. add more licenses, upgrade license, move licenses between workstations...), click My Accounts > Subscriptions and select the desired license by clicking on the eye-glass icon.

To download and install DiagnosticLink, logon to the ordering site and follow steps below:

1. Click My Accounts and My Downloads
2. Select DiagnosticLink 8x
3. Save installer (zip file) to desktop
4. Locate the installer (zip file) saved to desktop.
5. Double-click zip file to unzip.
6. Copy the contents (all files and folders) and paste to desktop.
   
7. Right-click the Setup.exe file and select Run As Administrator (if there's no option to 'Run As Administrator', select Open).
8. Follow the setup guide to complete the installation.

To register DiagnosticLink, a valid license key is required.

To register:

1. Locate the license key on the ordering site (logon required).
2. Click My Account > Subscriptions
3. Select (i.e. copy) the license
   
4. Open DiagnosticLink and past the license key into the 'Registration' field.
5. Enter a Computer Description (optional).
6. Click Register and follow instructions.

If the license subscription is ending or has already expired, to continue using DiagnosticLink, you must renew the existing license subscription, or purchase a new one. 

Note: If the license was not purchased from the ordering site (e.g., system/component testing on behalf of DTNA engineering), please contact the sponsoring DTNA engineer). Otherwise, follow the renewal steps below:

1. Logon to the ordering site at https://diagnosticlink.nexiq.com/.
2. Click My Account. 
3. Click Subscriptions or click My Renewals.
4. Locate the desired Registration key and Renew. 
5. Follow the steps to complete the transaction. 
6. Once the license subscription has been renewed, open DiagnosticLink to register or connect to server.

The response 'Cannot Load the Schema for the Namespace' may indicate that the log file was created using a later version of the tool.  

To resolve, upgrade to the latest version of DiagnosticLink.

A failure in the flash job routine may cause the Program Block error while attempting to reprogram CPC3, MCM21T, or the ACM21T modules. See steps below:

1. Check the Nexiq USB-Link 2 device driver version.
2. Go to Control Panel Programs (for Windows 10, right-click Windows button, and left click Apps & Features).
3. Click on Nexiq USB-Link 2.
4. If running previous version (e.g. v2.6.0.2, v2.6.0.6, or v2.6.0.24), visit Nexiq.com >Download A Driver.
5. Download and install version 2.6.0.27 or later.
6. Restart Windows and try reprogramming again.

If updating the driver is not an immediate option (e.g. No Administrator Rights), use temporary work around:

1. Disconnect the Nexiq USB-Link 2 cables from the vehicle 9-pin and from the computer USB port.
2. Reconnect both connections and try reprogramming again.
3. When possible, have your local IT Administrator install the updated Nexiq drivers.

No Compatible RP1210 Devices Found 

This message indicates that the tool does not detect any installed device drivers. The tool can be used offline, but in order to connect to a vehicle, the appropriate hardware device drivers must be installed (e.g. if using the Nexiq USB-Link 2 device, the Nexiq USB-Link 2 drivers must be installed on the workstation). 

To resolve, visit the support site of the hardware manufacturer to download and install the appropirate device drivers. Once installed, open DiagnosticLink to confirm operation. To manually configure the newly installed device drivers, open DiagnosticLink and click Tools > Options > Connection > SID Configuration. Select the appropriate option for your device. If using the Nexiq USB-Link 2, select USB-Link 2 and click Ok.

This message indicates a failure to connect to application server. This may be due to one of the following conditions:

• TCP Port 48481 is closed/blocked
• Customer's Wi-Fi settings is blocking required access
• DTNA Server Outage
• Customer has no internet or network access

Basic Checks:

1. Open DiagnosticLink.
2. Click Tools, Options, and select the Server tab.
3. Click Test Network > Test Network.
4. If the network tests complete with 'No issues found', close DiagnosticLink, restart Windows, and try operation again. If the issue continues, connect using an external network (e.g. hotspot/ public Wi-Fi). If the connection works, contact your local IT Administrator to resolve.
5. If the network tests 'fails' for any item, verify network connection (e.g. try connecting to Yahoo.com). If connection fails, contact your local IT Administrator or internet provider to resolve.
6. Connect to an external network such as a hotspot, public Wi-Fi. If the issue cannot be reproduced, it is possible that something on the business network (e.g. firewall, antivirus, or proxy setting) is causing the issue. For assistance, contact your local IT Administrator.
7. If a proxy login is required to access the internet, please first resolve proxy login requirements, then connect to the server with DiagnosticLink, and verify operation. For assistance, contact your IT Administrator.
8. Verify access to TCP Port 48481 (required). To test, copy-paste the WSDL link below into web browser and hit enter:

If the page displays general text, the required port is open. If the page displays an error (e.g. Cannot Open Page), this may indicate that TCP Port 48481 is closed. If closed, contact your local IT Administrator to resolve.

• To view the application server address, ports, etc., open the application and click Tools > Options > Server. If the application is not registered, click Options to view the details.

When the error 'User ID is not Authorized' is encountered, it's generally associated with a particular VIN in which the SSO ID (most commonly P70/public ID) does not have access to the VIN server data.

To verify:

1. From the DL8 workstation displaying the error; try downloading a different engine serial number (without the VIN). If using a public (P70) SSO ID, request to the have the Programming Event reset by emailing DTNASSD@daimlertruck.com a request to reset event due to a programming error. Include a screen shot of the error and the user ID.
2. If the secondary engine serial number downloads successfully, contact the Dealer Help Desk to check the user ID and VIN.

To configure a password for the connected CPC:

1. Choose CPC from the Parameters > Configure > Passwords submenu to display the Configure Passwords dialog box. 
2.  Click on a radio button to choose which password to set (e.g. General Password, Speed Setting, PTO, Engine Protection...).
3. If a password has already been set for the selected group, enter the old password in the 'Enter Old Password' box.
4. Enter the new password in the 'Enter New Password' box.
5. Press Send to set the password in the CPC.
6. A confirmation dialog box will be displayed when the new password has been successfully set in the CPC.
