Independent Repair Facility (IRF) User Reference Guide
- The IRF reference guide can assist IRF users with user ID, licensing, and programming event usage.
A Technical Literature (i.e., TechLit) subscription is required to download and access the Troubleshooting manuals. TechLit access is helpful for troubleshooting diagnostic fault codes. To purchase a TechLit subscription, click here or contact EPI Printers, Inc. at 734-464-9000. A TechLit user ID can only be used for TechLit content access and downloads.
To create an IRF user ID, click HERE and complete the IRF user ID request form.
A programming event is required for each time an engine calibration (serial number) is downloaded. See the event usage details below:
- An event can be used to program Detroit powertrain controllers such as the CPC, MCM, ACM, and/or TCM).
- Once the event is used to download the engine calibration, one or more engine controllers can be programmed (e.g., the CPC, MCM, ACM, and/or TCM can be programmed with a single event).
- Multiple engine serial numbers will require the purchase of multiple events.
- Parameter changes and the use of Service Routines generally do not require programming, but there may be instances where programming will be required after certain routines (e.g., the Learn Routine may require programming afterwards, which will require an event purchase).
- Events cannot be used to program non-powertrain controllers (e.g., vehicle/ chassis controllers cannot be programmed with an event (e.g., SSAM, SAMCHAS, CGW, XMC…). For vehicle / chassis controller programming support, please contact your local dealer.
- To purchase a programming event, login to the ordering site, click Catalog, and select Programming Event. Enter quantity, add to cart, and complete the transaction.
- A DiagnosticLink Professional license is required for programming. To upgrade an existing Standard license to Professional, login to the ordering site, click My Account > Subscriptions, select the desired license, and use the available upgrade option.
